Final Project Ideas
So for my final project, I was thinking about writing a short script to do with a friend, but the more I think about it, I think it would be cool to take a short story like the fairytales from the Brothers Grimm or something and recite it to someone who would be acting as a child/grandchild. Then maybe we could do a scene with a voiceover of me reading the story as a narrator and having me and maybe a few other people act it out. I think I can make that work like the way we did the silent movie by recording the video and then recording the narration separately. Maybe I can take the Little Red Ridinghood story and change it up a bit so instead of a wolf it's a person. I think what I can do is narrate the story as if it was just a fairytale and use examples like the wolf and going to the grandmother's house, all the while the video that will be shown as it is being narrated will be modern and with real people. I think that it will make the message of the tale clearer and also show how my acting skills have improved over the course of the year. It would show how I can change characters from being on one end of the spectrum (being the mother or grandmother and having lived through the experience) to the complete opposite (being the young girl, a.k.a. Little Red Ridinghood and not yet going through something as traumatizing as almost being kidnapped).

Fall Play Review
I saw the fall play on Thursday night which was opening night. I thought that all of the actors were cast in good roles and they all did a good job portraying their character with the correct age and personality. John Jaing's lead role I thought was a perfect fit for him. He portrayed the character very well and was great at giving little hints to the audience as to how he felt about his family and other characters in the play. His role as the father/husband seemed like a complex one in a way. I think that he did a very good job of showing the audience how he felt without overdoing it or forcing emotions into the words. Sam Weed also did a very good job showing her concern for her husband and her sadness during her song and after her and John Jaing fought. I think that John Jaing could have slowed down a bit while he was doing his monologues. I think that they were great and he showed some great emotions, it was just hard to tell when they started and ended sometimes. I think that Magie's role was a little hard to understand. I was confused as to whether she was supposed to be really young, like a teenager or younger or if she was supposed to be in her twenties. I thought she was supposed to be about thirteen or so, but then someone told me that she was supposed to be in her early twenties. I think that I was confused because she was so loud when she spoke and her tone sounded like that of a child being sassy. I definitely think that she should have toned her voice down by either lowering her voice or lowering the tone of her voice and not letting it get so high pitched. She could have easily have given off an older persona by slowing the speed of her dialogue and lowering her voice to make it sound more like teasing instead of starting an argument. Overall the play was really good, there were just a few minor adjustments I would make. I also think that the blocking was great and the set was perfect. The one thing I didn't like was the way the seating was set up; it was hard for me to see some peoples' expressions sometimes and that was a little frustrating. Other than that the play was very well organized and had a clear plot and meaning.

Making the Scene Better
I think that I just need to get better at saying my lines and not getting flustered if I forget something. I also think that I need to see how Hillary acts and try to imitate her more. I think that Jake is doing a really good job but he should try to be more physical with my character. Victoria I think needs to be a little bit louder and have a bit more emotion. Other than that she is doing a great job. I think that I am pretty good at my reactions to his statements.

Silent Movie Reflection
I think that the filming and time management was good. I contributed by editing the movie, acting in it and providing the camera to film with. I liked our costumes and thought that the message was pretty clear. On thing we could have done to make it clearer was making the car crash more exciting/believable. We could have made a cardboard cutout of a car and had Jake hold it up while he was "driving". We also could have had Josh actually push Jake and let go of the chair instead of pushing him the whole way. Other than that, I think that we did a pretty good job providing character details and making the story clear.

Character Motivation
I am a curious young girl in England old enough to explore on my own but too young to marry. My father, the most loving person I have known, died a some time ago. Leaving me to live with my mother and sister. My favorite outfit is an off white corset with a blue skirt that is held up in the front by straps coming from the corset. I come from a very wealthy family, though to others it might not look like it because the skirt is worn and faded from wearing it all the time. My shoes are very comfortable; black flats with a bow on the end. Not very practical for running or traveling long distances, but they seem to fit me well enough. My long, curly blonde hair is usually always pulled back into a braid.
I am very outgoing and polite, which is why I was surprised when the white rabbit completely ignored me and went along running around. I heard him saying something about being late. I wanted to know what he was late for so I followed him. Through the maze we went, me trailing a few feet behind him. I should have expected to find him going down a rabbit hole, but I guess the size of the hole is what really shocked me. I was always up for an adventure, so I just crawled in the hole finding myself falling for a few minutes. I was wondering if I was ever going to reach the end. I wondered if since the rabbit was smaller he would fall faster. He must have done it a lot to know exactly where to go.

Alice in Wonderland Monologue
Why, how impolite of him. I asked him a civil question, and he pretended not to hear me. I say, Mr. White Rabbit, where are you going? He won't answer me. And I do so want to know what he is late for. I think I will follow him. Wait for me, Mr. White Rabbit. How curious. I never realized that rabbit holes were so dark . . . and so long . . . and so empty. I believe I have been falling for five minutes, and I still can't see the bottom! I wonder how many miles I've fallen by this time. Oh, I think I see the bottom. Yes, I'm sure I see the bottom. I shall hit the bottom, hit it very hard, and oh, how it will hurt!
